Hi Bob,
I absolutely agree that the IEMax script is a problem all by itself; I've
long since removed it.
unfortunately, I still have the problems of browse mode not coming on, and
getting the random reports that internet explorer 8 has stopped working
and
has to be closed.
I'm going to copy my answer to the list to let others know of the possible
issues with the IEMax script.
thanks.
Chip

Hi,
I think I've found the problem with IE8 and WE. If I unload the IE max
script running in WE, IE8 stops crashing. If I reinstall the IE max
script,
IE8 starts occasionally crashing again. I think that the IE max script
and
IE8 do not get along.

Thanks Nolan for letting me know!
I too reinstalled on my vista pc and it's the same set of problems!!! :(
I too am getting the errors that internet explorer stopped working each
time
I use it with window eyes (but not jaws).
I didn't want Michael to think I wasn't listening to him, I just needed a
sick day to get the time to do this.
I'm working with someone from MS who's trying to duplicate the problem.
Thanks.
Chip

Two words: fire fox. Only website it doesn't work well with is my bank,
otherwise I wouldn't ahve any use for ie.

I guess the subject line really says it all. I held out hope that a
removal and re-install of IE 8 as suggested on this list would solve my
constant needs for screen redraws and manual browse mode changes.
Alas, it didn't work at all. I didn't do some kind of blow out the
registry kind of removal, but I certainly did one through control
panel, and then I did a re-install. It looks like to me my removal
wasn't a complete one, since IE 8 asked me if I wanted to keep my
current accelerators. I guess I could have attempted some kind of
complete registry blow-out, but frankly that's just not worth the
hassle. I'm still going to try this removal and re-install on my vista
machine, especially since on that machine I constantly get a request to
send an error report to Microsoft every time I close a tab or close IE
8. At least that's not happening on the work XP machine.
So, Chip, I don't know what to tell you regarding our little problem.
I guess for now, we continue to engage in the extra keystroking until
it just becomes too counterproductive.

Nolan
