I believe very few people think it's a good idea to go get a new operating system as soon as it's released.
I've been with my current IT shop for over 25 years now, and it's our policy *never* to do that; we usually wait until the first service pack has been released before we consider it to have enough of the bugs worked out to make it worth it. I also disagree with the assertion that all pcs made today are 64 bit. I think it's easy enough to buy 32-bit processors. In any case, the problem is the 64 bit operating system, and if you do choose a 64 bit processor, you can order it with the 32 bit version of the operating system, and window eyes and other programs run fine.
