Please have someone with a working pair of eyes look at your keyboard. Many
multi-media keyboards have a mute key and it is very easy to accidentally
bump or activate without knowing while putting your keyboard down. Even if
you don't accidentally activate this key, it will definitely unmute your
sound.

Hope This Helps!

Subject: windows mute function

Does anyone know if there is a keystroke to turn the mute function of
windows on and off? For some reason, the mute box periodically checks
itself and my computer goes silent and I have to have someone who can see go
through the menus and uncheck the mute box.
