This is true. It happened to me some time ago. However I would think that
most keyboards are designed the same. If that is true then the mute key
would be located on the top right. To the left of that key is the volume up

Please have someone with a working pair of eyes look at your keyboard.
Many
multi-media keyboards have a mute key and it is very easy to accidentally
bump or activate without knowing while putting your keyboard down. Even

you don't accidentally activate this key, it will definitely unmute your
sound.
