Hi Kevin,

This problem is also giving me sore ears in Thunderbird particulily since installing the beta. Each time enter is pressed to open a message, the message subject, Mozilla Thunderbirdand the number of links is spoken. I was not aware of it in the previous 7.11.

If titles are turned off in verbosity, activated, then the title is not spoken when the WE control panel is opened. If I do as you suggest and set up a window around the titlebar and silence it, then some of my auto hotkey macros will not be able to read the titlebar when switching from one account to another. In short, if GW Micro does not change things from their end it appears I'll be stuck with hearing the extra verbage each time a message is opened.

Using: WXPH SP3, latest TB and Tripletalk USB also tried Dectalk.
Neville.

Hi Juan:
Would it be possible to define a window around the last part of the
title and define that window to be silent, thus causing that part of
the title not to be spoken?
It might be a little extra work at first, but at least your ears are
not going to explode or fall off or whatever. (grin)

Subject: Window titles - feature request

In the Verbose menu of ACTIVE, It is possible to check the box for having WE
report your Window Title, whenever you land on a Window, i.e when
Alt-Tabbing. This is a nice feature, but it has a small drawback:

If you, for instance, alt-tab to your Notepad window, it will read 'My
Document.txt - notepad'. Same in Internet Explorer, and in Outlook Express,
it would read the Folder, and then tell you it is in 'Outlook Express'. It
is nice, in some cases I guess, to have the full window title spoken. But in
most cases, I only need to know ONE of the two parts of the Title. In most
cases, when I alt-tab through my open windows, I don't need to be reminded
if I am in Notepad, Internet Explorer, Word or whatever. All I do need, is
to know, exactly which document/webpage/folder I am in. In other words, it
would be enough for me to hear 'My Document.txt', 'GWMicro.com', 'Inbox',
and so forth. Specially the way it is now, you get tired of hearing all the
application names spoken, when you do an excessive amount of alt-tabbing
back and forth through a couple of hours. Say you have a Word document open,
and then do some research on the internet, making notes in Word. You Alt-Tab
to Word, get the 'Notes.doc - Word', message, do a bit of typing, Alt-Tab
back to IE, and hear 'Wikipedia.com - Internet Explorer', spoken. Do this
Alt-Tabbing back and forth 20 times the next hour, and your ears are filled
to the extend, they are about to fall off, with the 'WORD', and 'INTERNET
EXPLORER' phrases. In general, it is to be prefered, that you get the least
amount of words spoken, that is needed to have you do your job the most
effectively. Well, at least for oldtime-runners, this will be the case.

So, could there please, be an extra checkbox in the Verbose menu, that would
tell WE whether or not to include the App-name in the Window title? It sure
would have made my ears happy, and I guess many with me.
