Valid point.
In my case I simply turn off taps on the touchpad and leave it working. I don't mind it being functional but I loath it when I simply touch the pad and I end up clicking someplace I did not wish to.
Anyone sighted can still click by using the dedicated buttons.

Well, how would they go about doing it without a mouse, and without window
eyes to do things like click for them or open the systray? it's not an easy
task to go into the systray and right click an icon and choose a choice, and
work your way through the touchpad configuration software to check a
particular checkbox to turn back on the mouse.

especially since, there's this other option, which only disables it when
window eyes is running? it's just perfect for our situation, and I was
hoping Dell had used that same touchpad on their netbooks.

I guess it would be insensitive to suggest that maybe the sighted person
using your netbook will just have to do a little extra work to get the
touchpad working again?
