Hi Connie: As others on this list have mentioned, it is not a good idea to record throught the microphone jack, but, I was able to do it by changing the boost level and making sure that the volume of my cassette player was low enough not to cause distortion. And I also set my system so that I could hear what I was recording through my speakers. By the way, I used Audacity instead of Goldwave, but it shouldn't make much of a difference. Kevin Huber
