Well, it works just fine with all current versions of Windows.
If at some point a new version of Windows comes out and Eudora doesn't work with it; then I'll worry about it then. After all, following that line of thinking; we don't know that anything we're using now will work with a future version of Windows. Come to that; we do not know there will even be a future version of Windows.
So, we should use nothing.
As for Eudora being vulnerable; it is not a web browser. As long as you have auto execute html code turned off, Eudora just reads and writes e-mail. Nothing will execute. If I were someone who wanted to develop some nasty program to exploit some weakness in e-mail I'd surely write it for a new program.
Not a tried and true one which fewer people are using.

I agree with Kevin's comments and I also used Eudora previously. Now I
use Becky! as my email program. However it is important to remember
that all development of Eudora 7 has stopped. This means that there is
the possibility that it may not work with future versions of Windows.
Also there is the possibility that hackers can exploit security issues
in programs such as Eudora because they know the issues won't be fixed.
I tried Eudora 8 developed by Mozilla but I didn't like the interface to
the program. This certainly doesn't mean the program is bad just that
the interface didn't appeal to me personally.

As I have done before; I recommend Eudora.
Free, very accessible and easy to use.
Also, quite powerful.
Easy and flexible filters to sort incoming mail.
Works great with WE and also with all flavors of Windows.
Still have not found anything better; or even comparable.
And, I've used most flavors of Outlook, as I must at work.
