Well, sometimes simple solutions are overloked. I remembered to remove temporary files. Things seem better now. I'll reinstall Esset and see what happens. Thanks for your help. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert C" <[email protected]>

Assuming you are using default settings, I would think Eset is scanning your computer at startup. I dont find Eset to be a hog at all and is why I installed it. I also have real time protection on but never noticed any slowdown.

Subject: Esset Smart Security4

I just purchased this program, as Nod32 has been highly recommended by GW Micro and Window-Eyes users. I know that others have tried Smart Security, so I thought I would try it, too. I have Window-Eyes 7.2 with Windows XP and the latest updates. After installing Esset, I noticed my machine growing slower and more unstable. I installed it last week. I tried repairing it today, and problems still persisted, so I have uninstalled it completely for now. It was causing all my programs to hang. After I rebooted, the problems returned right away. I had difficulty getting on the internet as well as running MS Word, Outlook Express, etc. Window-Eyes wouldn't run properly, even after unloading it and restarting it again. After uninstallation, the computer is running normally, but I don't want to be unprotected for long. What am I missing? Thanks.
