Thanks for the reply, but this happens time and time again well after I boot
the computer. This is on my notebook and I hear the internal fan kicking on
like it's trying to cool the notebook down or something else is going on
that slows down my notebook. I also have a chill pad that's always running
to keep the notebook cool.

if its doing this when you first boot up. then wait a few minutes before
you start doing any typeing.
eset antivirus does a memory and system file check when you first boot and
will hamper the operation of the computer. includeing speech.
i also have drop box and carbonite running and both of these scan the
computer for files to backup every time you boot the computer. this slows
down the computer operation too.
so if i wait a couple of minutes before i use the computer after it boots
i don't have the problem of w e not speaking when i type.

Is there a script that list all the running programs that run in the
background? Something is really slowing down my computer. At times I can
type an entire sentence in windows mail before window eyes catches up. I
know there is task manager, but how does one know what all these programs
do? I've ran system mechanic, eset full system scan and windows Defender

nothing comes up as a virus or a threat. By the way, could it be the

eyes beta? My system started slowing down about the same time as I
downloaded the beta and installed it.
