i do not really understand why people are pushing the 64 bit os cause if that 
would be the only os out there then what happens to the 32 bit programs that 
people use, if no 64 bit version is made? for that os?

  The point is moot at this point.  No computers should be shipping with 32 bit 
OS now unless specificly requested by the buyer to support legacy hardware.


  If there were a point it would be the longtail.  In other words, if you are 
spending 800 to a grand and expecting the laptop to last 3 years you want 64 
bit.  If you are spending 300 and want the laptop to last a year then it may 
not make any difference.
