So if you spend the money on a 32 bit machine in about a year you are going to find that you cannot buy software that works with it and a lot of stuff on the internet such as IM and online radio and video will not work with the 32 bit system. As far as the way you use the computer there is really no difference in how you use it. it will just be faster and more efficient. Meanwhile, you're forking out hundreds or even thousands on brand new hardware that's not supported by your 32 bit operating system. How does that make sense? My mom collects commemorative spoons. They're too little to eat with and the handles are all odd shapes and they collect dust like nobody's business. But they're more use than a 32 bit OS on a brand new computer. No computers should be shipping with 32 bit OS now unless specificly requested by the buyer to support legacy hardware. If there were a point it would be the longtail. In other words, if you are spending 800 to a grand and expecting the laptop to last 3 years you want 64 bit. If you are spending 300 and want the laptop to last a year then it may not make any difference. Best, Erik Burggraaf This month in Ebony Promos: Two new gps systems for demo. I would suggest you think about the 64 bit version. A few more bells and whistles and a lot more things are going to go to 64 bit. You can still run your 32 programs on the 64 system.
