Whenever I've ran a computer with a monitor I've kept the on and off button off. With my laptop running Vista there is a setting where you can choose to turn off the display. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephen Clower" <[email protected]>

Hello Butch,

Windows doesn't have a setting for running without a monitor. The only way to accomplish this is to physically disconnect any displays receiving output from the video card. Window-Eyes doesn't care if a monitor is connected, however, so you shouldn't notice any difference in performance regardless of the presence of a display.

Regards,
Steve

Hello list, I read somewhere that the Windows OS has a setting that will tell the computer to run without a monitor. I'm not sure if this is with Windows 7, Windows XP, or both. If this is true, can Window-eyes function properly without a physical monitor connected to the computer? Can Window-eyes read the information directly from the video card? If anyone has any experience with this, I would really appreciate your advice. Also, can you tell me where to find the setting that I need to change to make my machine run without a monitor. Thank you for your help.
