in most cases you can run win eyes without a monitor connected. but there have been a few brands that will only run in monicrome mode when there is no monitor. so you might have to make changes to the set files to make them work. i b m use to be one of those computers. there use to be some kind of dongle you could connect to the vga connector to fool the computer into thinking a monitor was connected. but in most cases none of this is needed. and wineyes would have no problems.

You can also change the brightness in Power Management, Control Panel. But yes, you can use your computer without a physical monitor. Window-Eyes relies on your video card and associated drivers to output text written to the screen. Or so that's how I understand it. In fact, it is the mirror driver that Window-Eyes comes with that outputs text written to the screen and not Window-Eyes itself. Window-Eyes is just using the information provided by the mirror driver. I'm not sure if this is with Windows 7, Windows XP, or both. If this is true, can Window-eyes function properly without a physical monitor connected to the computer? Can Window-eyes read the information directly from the video card? If anyone has any experience with this, I would really appreciate your advice. Also, can you tell me where to find the setting that I need to change to make my machine run without a monitor.
