Hi Steve, Well, for some reason, unknown to myself or the IT guy I called in for support, Window-Eyes simply disappeared from my Windows 7 PC. We assume that it did some sort of software recovery to before Window-eyes was installed, but could find no evidence.
I then had to do an emergency removal of Window-eyes and a full re-install, no real problem there. I then thought, "Why not try the new set files for Lotus Notes". After all, we are using very little of the real functionality of Notes, really just using it as a document repository. I did so and to my surprise, the set file both worked and the odd behaviour has gone away. My only issue now is with the graphics that are not spoken in the native set file. The two that are not present, in native form, as far as I can see those for the "selected" and "deleted" items in a list of documents. If I use the virtual mouse I can see the graphics symbol is in place, but cannot get to it. I used the usual method of <next< and <previous> Place (sorry, I have forgotten he correct name for that). I use the numpad <insert> 7 and 9 . The virtual mouse moves around, but jumps over the graphics symbol. I will carry on playing with that until I get at those elusive graphics symbols. I think that Window-Eyes still tracked a focus rectangle, but maybe something there isn't working right under Windows 7. I do remember this kind of problem coming and going away over time. Also, and of course I'm grasping at straws here, try track mouse with focus in case that helps. If you are already doing that, try turning it off. That's a real pain. I can remember that when I had this kind of problem, I accidentally deleted the wrong messages from time to time. We also have more reclosing options now than I had when I was using Notes 4.5, and I suppose it is worth experimenting with that. From what you are saying, it sounds as though something about Window-Eyes and Windows 7 is causing these lists to be handled differently, but I do remember this being a problem from time to time before Windows 7.
