Don't have lotus but I'm wondering if adjusting the large and small graphics
limits in window eyes might help. These are located under the general /
other menu.

Subject: RE: Old Lotus Notes Client and Windows 7
Hi Steve,
Well, for some reason, unknown to myself or the IT guy I called in for
support, Window-Eyes simply disappeared from my Windows 7 PC. We assume that
it did some sort of software recovery to before Window-eyes was installed,
but could find no evidence.
I then had to do an emergency removal of Window-eyes and a full re-install,
no real problem there.
I then thought, "Why not try the new set files for Lotus Notes". After all,
we are using very little of the real functionality of Notes, really just
using it as a document repository.
I did so and to my surprise, the set file both worked and the odd behaviour
has gone away.
My only issue now is with the graphics that are not spoken in the native set
file.
The two that are not present, in native form, as far as I can see those for
the "selected" and "deleted" items in a list of documents.
If I use the virtual mouse I can see the graphics symbol is in place, but
cannot get to it.
I used the usual method of <next< and <previous> Place (sorry, I have
forgotten he correct name for that). I use the numpad <insert> 7 and 9 . The
virtual mouse moves around, but jumps over the graphics symbol.
I will carry on playing with that until I get at those elusive graphics
symbols.
Thanks for your help.
Regards, John.

John,
Also play with highlighting. I think that Window-Eyes still tracked a focus
rectangle, but maybe something there isn't working right under Windows 7. I
do remember this kind of problem coming and going away over time. Also, and
of course I'm grasping at straws here, try track mouse with focus in case
that helps. If you are already doing that, try turning it off.
That's a real pain. I can remember that when I had this kind of problem, I
accidentally deleted the wrong messages from time to time. We also have
more reclosing options now than I had when I was using Notes 4.5, and I
suppose it is worth experimenting with that. From what you are saying, it
sounds as though something about Window-Eyes and Windows 7 is causing these
lists to be handled differently, but I do remember this being a problem from
time to time before Windows 7.
Best regards,
Steve Jacobson

Hi Steve,
The full picture is that on a Windows 2003 server we have the Lotus
Domino host running the DB. The
users then use Lotus Notes 4.5 clients on their PCs to access the DB. There
are a number of other people already running under Windows 7 without any
issue.
To upgrade to the current level of Lotus Notes will not happen. In fact we
will be changing our tool in
due course.
Although the lines in question are not at the extremes of the screen, I
will try to resize it and see
what happened.
Thanks for your help.
Regards, John.

John,
Are you still using Lotus Notes 4? I didn't think that would even run
under Windows 7, in fact it was
my understanding that there are problems running any versions of Notes
before 8 with Windows 7.
Are you certain that the problem is not with lines at the bottom or top of
the Windows? I do remember
an issue where if a line was only partly visible that Window-Eyes could read
it even though it was not
completely visible and that confused Window-Eyes in terms of establishing
which line was highlighted.
Having the window resized so that the top and bottom of the window occurred
between lines seemed to
help. However, if you are really using Lotus Notes 4, you might have to
upgrade to get the problem
resolved.

Hello list,
Here at work we use a very old version of Lotus Notes as a document
repository.
Until recently there was no problem with this. I had kept a Lotus Notes
set file from Lotus Notes
version 4 and simply installed that whenever there was an upgrade to WE
which bought with it a newer
versions of the Lotus Notes set file.
I have now had my PC upgraded to Windows 7 from Windows XP and have some
problems.
The issue seems to happen in many of my views.
If I arrow down a list of document titles I will on occasion have the
incorrect one read out by WE.
To try to describe the issue a little better:
On the page, I have lines 1 through 15 displayed.
When, for example, I have narrowed down to line 7, the values on line 8
will actually be read out. This
happens if I go up the list of lines or down it.
If I use the virtual mouse to view the screen, all lines are there
correctly.
I could well then get the same issue with lines 13 and 14.
I have compared the set-up on my previous XP and the Windows 7 PCs.
Both have the same screen
resolution and font size.
Can anyone suggest how I can resolve this?
Thanks.
Regards, John.
