What other addons or plugins are you running on top of MS Outlook? Antivirus and so on? Go to tools, option Others tab and last to advance option button
you should find buttons in it which will give you the info what's running on top of Outlook 2003. One of them should be call add-ons. I dont have that version at that moment to double check on the specific button name. The other way I will do to troubleshoot the problem is, start Outlook in safe mode and do what you always do. For my experience which its quite similar with yours, it can be related to Outlook 2003 addons itself or even the browse mode only when it encounter html messages. If all your mails are plain text, I dont seem to have that problem. -------------------- regards Thomas N. GW has never been able to figure out why this is happening. But I don't have to shut down W-E or Outlook. Usually I can clear the problem by finding a message of the opposite type and opening that. So if I find a text message that is not reading, I switch to an HTML message, open that, and I can go back to the text message and it will work properly for another 10 or 20 messages.
