In so many cases the new auto on and off of browse mode leaves you lost on a web page. Some times WE will say edit box when a page loads but not tell you a edit box for what. In other cases WE again puts you on a edit box but says absolutely nothing. And why oh why does browse mode get turned off for a button? For me auto mode is useless and I have turned it off until GW does a better job of implementing it.

What seems to be generally erratic behavior makes it hard to use the
new browse mode, even with pages as simple as Google.

But on Google, browse mode wouldn't automatically load, because focus is
on an edit box when the page comes up. So it makes sense that, on
Google, browse mode would be off so that you could immediately start
typing. Is it possible that's what you're experiencing on other pages?
Is it possible that they're loading with focus on an edit box or some
other form control?
