With respect, you will likely have to update within the next few months
as Microsoft will be dropping all support for Office 2003 and Windows XP
in April of 2014. However, if you are comfortable with the impending
security risks, then the compatibility pack for Office will allow you to
read the modern document formats in 2003. You can find it at
