To change the default download folder:
1. Open IE.
2. Control-J to open the view downloads dialog.
3. If you're not on it, tab to or use the mouse to find the Options link
and activate it.
4. You should come in on the Browse button. This is to browse for a new
default download folder. To make sure just Shift-Tab once and you'll see
the default download folder. Tab back to the Browse button and press
space or enter.
Select the folder you want and then hit Apply and/or OK.
Then Alt-F4 to close the downloads window.
To save a file in a specific folder:
When you're on the link for the file to download press either the
Application key or Shift-F10 to open the context menu.
Hit A to Save AS.
The file name will be in a combo-edit box and the cursor will be at the
end of the file name.
Press Home to move to the beginning of the file name and add the desired
path.
Tab to the Save button and hit enter.

Hi all,
I have just spent some frustrating time trying to find out a: how to
change the default download folder for IE10 and b: how to get a choice
of where to put any given file just prior to the download starting.
I have been using the Windows XP and that version of IE forever, but it
is time to change. I even asked my sighted spouse, who has been using
various browsers under Win 7, and he didn't know how to make the
change, and the IE help wasn't much in this instance.
I want to put my downloads folder just off the root, where it is easy
to access. And I want the ability to select a file to download and
then, prior to the download actually beginning, I want to be able to
change where that file goes, in the case that I don't want it going
where default downloads go. An example would be when downloading a BARD
book, which I want to go into my bard books folder, not my regular
download folder. Yes, I could go and copy the downloaded file upon
completion of the d/l and paste into my BARD directory. But that is
inefficient and seemingly unnecessary. Can anybody help here? Thanks in
advance.
Mary
