So at best your users group has uninformed people. At worst they are people
who don't really care about what is true or not and they'll insist they've
gotten the facts when they have not. Then they'll lie about it. FS lackies
can't bring themselves to believe that GW was able to do what they've done.
They just can't get their heads around the fact that the Office version of
WE is the full version except for support and voices. And it doesn't stop
here. When WE retail is updated WE for Office will also be updated. So
good luck spreading the truth even when there are people who are threatened
by it.

Subject: Functionality of the MS-Office Version of Win-Eyes
Yesterday, at a tech-user's meeting in NH, the Win-Eyes version that is
available with MS-Office was discussed, and we were told that it does not
work
in all programs, only within the Office suite, and, for example, it does
not
work when using Notepad or Wordpad, for instance. I would really like to
know
if this is true. I am a long-time Win-Eyes user, and of course, spoke up
for my
Win-Eyes, but we are definitely in the minority up here, so I was quickly
squelched. I was told they had sat in and asked questions at the Webinar
led by
GW and had pinned them down on this point. So, GW, is this true? If I
bought a
new computer with an acceptable version of Office on it, would I discover
that I
had no speech as soon as I brought up Wordpad or Notepad, or How about in
Windows Explorer!? This surely does not fit my first impression of this
Microsoft/GW offer. It wouldn't affect me; I'll probably always pay for
my
copy, because I like Win-Eyes, and believe in supporting the company
producing
it, but I'd like to know my facts when I open my mouth and put my foot in
it!
