Sammy,
You don't need a PC to set anything up on the note takers at all. I only mentioned it as a point of reference. There were excellent instructions given on how to do this. Setting up WEP is not too difficult and I'm thinking it can be better done through telephone rather than through here, as I don't remember what comes up by default.

Hello Mr. Rimer and list,
Currently I am sending from my BrailleNote M-Power. I don't own or wish to have a PC. I like the BrailleNote and wish to learn to use the Braille Sense Plus. I'M very interested in using both of these devices, not only because of their size, but because both have Perkin styled keyboards. I acquired the Braille Sense plus because it has built-in wireless and 8 gb of flash drive and I want to learn to use it as well as I use the M-Power. If anyone can help me with setting my unit up to both send and receive e-mail, without referring me to a PC, my joy will know no bounds. Using the BrailleNote M-Power, I don't use SSL (my IP is Verizon), but I am using wep. If it's possible, I'd like to learn to use the Braille Sense Plus just as I use the BrailleNote for surfing the internet and sending and receiving messages. I've been reading this list for several months now and was so impressed with the help and advice people gave that I decided to get a Braille Sense Plus. However, if I must use a PC to set my Braille Sense up to use it, then I misunderstood the information people on the list were giving. I am not computer literate, and at 74 years of age would rather use these nice little PDA's if they perform as advertised. If anyone can help me, on or off list, I will be most appreciative. I can be contacted by phone at: 202-863-0390 or by e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks in advance,

Sammie Clay

Sammy,
You should set up your E-mail the exact way you have it set
up via PC.
Since you're at home, default ports should be used, and check to
make sure
your settings are right. Did you put your E-mail address in the
advanced
section for authentication purposes? Do you have to do that with
your PC?
Try to match it up as best you can.

Hello List:
Yesterday I received a Braille Sense Plus. I know nothing
about this
product, but a friend of mine helped me set up the internet. I
cannot
send email, but I can receive. I currently use Verizon. My
Braille Note
is not set for SSL, so I'm thinking the Braille Plus shouldn't
need to.
I'd like to use a WEP key, but I'm not sure how to do it.
Could someone
give me step by step instructions? Any help on or off list would
be
appreciated. Thanks for your help in advance.
