Hello Sammie. One thing which you might try so you are aware of its existence is the space-h command. When you press this while at the main program menu, it gives you a list of hot keys to use when you are in most programs. Things like space-dot-1 and space-dot-4 are listed to move up or down. It also gives you hot keys on how to lower and raise the volume as well as how to check the time and the battery status.
if you press space-h from within any program such as the Email or the Word processor, it will give you a list of hot keys which are specific to those programs. When you are finished with the help you can press space-z to close it out and you will be placed in the same place where you left off.

With kind assistance, I have learned to put addresses in the address book, use the wordprossor, and surf the net using this wonderful machine. I only said I knew nothing about the Braille Sense so that anyone helping me would know I needed to learn it's commands and that I had no computer. I really have to jump in here and say something! The issue is, Sammie, not so much 
whether you are currently using a PC or a Braillenote. Sammie, you mentioned in your 
first message to this list that you know absolutely nothing about the BSP! In my opinion, 
you need to table or postpone the whole matter about internet setup and email 
registration until you have learned some basics about the BSP first! The first step, 
Sammie, is to turn on your BSP and wait for it to say "File Manager f". You are 
now in the Programs Menu, which is the parent menu. Then, press dots 4-5-6-chord which 
will take you to the last program in this menu. Then, press Enter on Help, and you will 
see a list of files that the Help Program deals with. The Help Program, essentially, is 
the BSP Online Manual. The first section of this online manual that you should read is 
the Help Overview for the BSP. Sammie, you did not tell us about any previous experience 
that you have had with using a PC. You've
stated that you currently are using a Braillenote.

When I decided to purchase my VS, I had not used a PC for over two years. It 
was, to say the least, quite a challenge for me to jump in and begin to learn 
how to use the VS! I felt like I had jumped into the deep end of the swimming 
pool, when I really belonged in the shallow end! To make matters worse, one of 
the techs at GW Micro acted like I had acquired quite a bit of knowledge about 
PC fundamentals as well as Windows fundamentals. I had to say to this 
individual that I had not used a PC for over two years, and that he shouldn't 
assume anything about what previous experience I've had regarding PC's, basic 
Windows XP concepts, email setup and application, and Internet setup and 
application. I have mentioned to GW Micro on a number of occasions that the 
company should make it a future project to create some training materials on 
either cassette tapes or DAISY-formatted COULDs that should be packed and 
shipped in the same box with the BSP or the VS, the documentation tha

t comes

with the unit, as well as any basic accessories which will help a person to begin to get started. This will make it much easier for people who have never been exposed to either a PDA, a notetaker, or a full-blown desk or laptop computer that uses Windows software.

I don't know much about the braille note's setup, however, if they needed to 
do the same thing, it may be of help, I only know via PC.

No, however, I would assume Sammy is sending from a PC or another device
otherwise they would not be able to send if they are having issues.

Sammy,
You should set up your E-mail the

exact way you have it set up via PC.

Since you're at home, default ports

should be used, and check to make sure

your settings are right. Did you put

your E-mail address in the advanced

section for authentication purposes? Do

you have to do that with your PC?

Try to match it up as best you can.

Hello List:
Yesterday I received a Braille Sense

Plus. I know nothing about this

product, but a friend of mine helped me

set up the internet. I cannot

send email, but I can receive. I

currently use Verizon. My Braille Note

is not set for SSL, so I'm thinking the

Braille Plus shouldn't need to.

I'd like to use a WEP key, but I'm not

sure how to do it. Could someone

give me step by step instructions? Any

help on or off list would be

appreciated. Thanks for your help in

advance.
