Hi. Quick steps below.

1. Enable wireless with backspace-th-sign backspace-dots 1-4-5-6.

2. Press F1, then U, then I.

3. Arrow to wireless LAN and press enter.

4. Up or down arrow to your wireless router setting. Note that this only works if you have SSID enabled on your router so it's visible. If you have this hidden, you will need to set this connection up manually.

5. Once you have found your advertised wireless router, press enter.

6. If there is no encryption the Voice Sense will simply attempt to connect. If there is a password or wep key or wpa key, you will be prompted for the key. Enter it using computer Braille and press enter.

If all has been done correctly the Voice Sense will connect with this router automatically every time it is in range and wireless is enabled.

Hello. You need not use a PC to set up the Braille Sense Plus.
I
apologize for any confusion. Also, just so you know, setup of
the
Internet wireless connection is different than setting up your
Email.
So, you should do the Internet setup first, then once that is
confirmed
to be working, you can get the Email set up. I have a Verizon
account
and it works without problems with the Sense notetakers. If you
give us
a call in case you still have questions please do so during
regular
business hours in the Eastern time zone.

Many thanks.

Hello Mr. Rimer and list,
Currently I am sending from my BrailleNote M-Power. I don't
own or
wish to have a PC. I like the BrailleNote and wish to learn to
use the
Braille Sense Plus. I'M very interested in using both of these
devices,
not only because of their size, but because both have Perkin
styled
keyboards. I acquired the Braille Sense plus because it has
built-in
wireless and 8 gb of flash drive and I want to learn to use it
as well
as I use the M-Power.
If anyone can help me with setting my unit up to both send and
receive
e-mail, without referring me to a PC, my joy will know no
bounds. Using
the BrailleNote M-Power, I don't use SSL (my IP is Verizon), but
I am
using wep. If it's possible, I'd like to learn to use the
Braille Sense
Plus just as I use the BrailleNote for surfing the internet and
sending
and receiving messages.
I've been reading this list for several months now and was so
impressed
with the help and advice people gave that I decided to get a
Braille
Sense Plus. However, if I must use a PC to set my Braille Sense
up to
use it, then I misunderstood the information people on the list
were
giving. I am not computer literate, and at 74 years of age
would rather
use these nice little PDA's if they perform as advertised.
If anyone can help me, on or off list, I will be most
appreciative. I
can be contacted by phone at: 202-863-0390 or by e-mail

Thanks in advance,

Sammie Clay

Sammy,
You should set up your E-mail the exact way you have it set
up via PC.
Since you're at home, default ports should be used, and check to
make sure
your settings are right. Did you put your E-mail address in the
advanced
section for authentication purposes? Do you have to do that
with
your PC?
Try to match it up as best you can.

Hello List:
Yesterday I received a Braille Sense Plus. I know nothing
about this
product, but a friend of mine helped me set up the internet. I
cannot
send email, but I can receive. I currently use Verizon. My
Braille Note
is not set for SSL, so I'm thinking the Braille Plus shouldn't
need to.
I'd like to use a WEP key, but I'm not sure how to do it.
Could someone
give me step by step instructions? Any help on or off list would
be
appreciated. Thanks for your help in advance.
