Hi Everyone!

I am sad to say that my Braille Sense original is dying a slow death. I
haven't talked to any of the tech support people yet, but a friend of mine who
owns a BSP AND TEACHES PEOPLE HOW TO USE THEM WAS TRYING TO HELP ME UPGRADE MY
UNIT TO THE NEWEST FIRM WARE. I tried doing it online, and right away my unit
said that there was insufficient room in the flash disk. Then when I tried to
upgrade the unit off list, again right away the unit said there was
insufficient space in the flash disk. Then I tried to find out how much room I
had left in both the flash disk and CF CARD, AND IT WOULDN'T TELL ME. Also
too, when I'm in the word processor and I'm trying to save a document it won't.
I also tried to copy my address and schedule manager into a file so I could
save them to the compact flash card and it wouldn't happen. I tried sinking
them to the computer and they wouldn't do that either. E-mail doesn't seem to
be affected, but if I try in the web browser to save a page to my favorites
that won't happen either. I've only had this uoit for three years and it
should last longer than that. My friend, who was helping me try to update my
unit, said that my unit is probably corrupted and that it would probably have
to be re-formatted.

I am very fortunate to have a special needs trust set up for me, and my aunt
who's well off set this up for me, and every year she puts some money in for
me, and I can use it for technology or anything that will help with my being
able to live independently. My parents are the trustees of the special needs
trust, so they are the ones that hold the strings of giving me the money or not
to be able to purchase the things I need. I told my Mom that my note taker's
dying. I've had trouble with this unit since day one. I really love this
product, but I've had to send it back so many times for all kinds of repairs.
I guess what I need from you guys is how reliable and durable have your BSP
UNITS BEEN? My Mom has seen how frustrated I've been with having to send mz
unit back so many times, so she's a bit relucltant to give me the money to
purchase another unit if I have to ship it back and forth so much, on my
expense, to have it fixed. I do pay for the PMA, BUT THAT DOESN'T COVER THE
SHIPPING COSTS. So if all of you could respond, who have BSP's, and honestly
tell me how reliable and durable your units are, and that you haven't had to
ship them back for repairs a lot, I'd really would appreciate this. I know the
units aren't perfect, but when I got my original, I only had it for a month and
a problem arose. So I don't know if I was just unfortunate and had bad luck or
what? I'd like to purchase the BSP, BECAUSE I believe it'll be the best unit
for me, but I need to know and be sure I'm not going to have problems for quite
a long time.

Thanks for reading this and I look forward to your responses.

Sarah
