You may have gotten a lemon older Braille Sense.
I've got one of the older units that my employer bouggt for me and it seems
to work quite well.
I think sometimes these notetakers area chancey thing.
One of my friends in Butler, PA bought a Braille Note PK.
The Braille display and the quality of the dots has been rotten from the
start.
She can read with it but the quality of the dots is not that good.

trouble.
