I believe the low j is correct. The only thing in front of it is the capital sign, so essentially, it is by itself.
Now, you cannot end a sentence with a lower word symbol. So, if the question was, "Did you ask her where she was?" you would have to spell out the word was. I teach braille and I'm familiar with the vast majority of rules, and I think that is the correct interpretation.
