Here's what I'm wanting to do!
I want to upgrade my Book Sense.
I can get the zip file.
I'm almost sure I can download it into the root directory because
at the download prompt I go to the s d card and then shift tab
twice.
I then download the file successfully.
I have to then unzip, and then copy those files into the root
directory.
So, what do I do after getting the message, "successfully
downloaded the zip for the upgrade on my VS? his

What you've been told is right, but maybe it needs clarification.
When you get to the SAID card, you'll see a list of files and
folders. That list is the root directory of the card. Do not
press "enter" on any of them.
If you add a file at this time, you will be putting it on the
root.
