Sarah:
Do you have a copy of the manual (as opposed to the Quick Start Guide)? You
can find one on the GW Micro site. I'd advise reading it. The process for
turning on and using wi-fi is fairly simple but is harder to explain than to
do. Moreover, you may (in fact probably will) find that in many instances,
you have to pay for the wi-fi access which means going thru a web site and
procedure and this varies by wi-fi provider. But a summary might go like
this:
(1)Hit Backspace-dots-1-5-6 to turn wi-fi on;
(2) Go to Utilities, then to Internet.
(3) Arrow down to "Wireless" and hit ENTER;
(4) If you get a connection, you'll see a list of wi-fi connections together
with their signal strengths. Hit ENTER on the one you wish to connect to. At
this point, you may have to tab thru the buttons to the ADvanced one to set
some connection parameters, especially if you have an encrypted connection
(unlikely in open areas);
(5) If you get a "connected" message, bring up a web page to see if you are
directed to the wi-fi provider's web page to accept any usage agreement
and/or pay for yur connection, asuming the page is accessible;
(6) Go ahead and surf the Net or handle email, assuming you have the email
program configured for your normal email provider and that it accepts POP3
connections. Setting this up is a a separate process.
I also urge you to go to the GW Micro web site and look at the Knowledge
Base articles; many of these subjects are covered in them. This is just an
outline.

Subject: [GWN] have a question about how to turn on the Y 5 feature of the
braille sense and how to use it
Hi Everyone!
I would like to be able to activate and use the Y Fii feature of the
Braille Sense. I have looked both in the help manual on the Braille Sense
and the braille quick guide manual to see if there was a section about it
either in the utilities or option areas of the note taker. I haven't seen
anything about it and I know the Braille Sense has this capability,
because that's one of the main reasons I upgraded to the BSP. I'd also
like to find an area in the Braille Sense where hopefully it'll explain a
step by step explanation of how to activate the Y Fii feature and use it.
If anyone can help me with this, or if you're available Raul, I'd really
would appreciate it! I'd like to be able to check and send e-mail or surf
the internet while at coffee shops, while waiting at doctor's offices or
clinics that have Y Fii capability.
