Ann, Try this, type .brl or whatever format you want at this time. Actually, if you have set your default document type, it'll save in that format unless you tell it otherwise. Write off list if you want. I havethe voice sense, but the software is the same.

Hi, All, I have just taken possession of a BrailleSense Plus which was purchased by a school district for the use of a student whom I will be seeing over the summer. I need to figure out the basic functions of the device so that I can teach the student how to use it in preparation for the next school year when he will be in the 6th grade. I am a BrailleNote user myself, but this is my first experience with the BrailleSense. So far I do like the device, but I am having difficulty with the "save as..." feature. I can find the item and get the prompt which asks me to name the file. When I type in the name I want the file to be called, I can see those characters on the braille display. If I were using my desktop computer with microsoft Word, after typing the file name, I would tab to the next prompt which would ask me for the file format. But what do I do at this point on the BrailleSense? I have tried pressing Space-dots 4, 5, which I think is the equivalent of "tab", and I have tried pressing "Enter", but in both cases, the device seems to freeze, and doesn't respond to any commands, such as "Space-Z" or "Space-e." So I have resorted to the reset button, which of course causes the data in the file to be lost. Can anyone help me with the details of how to work through the "save as..." routine, or point me to the spot in the manual where this is explained in detail? Thank you very much.
