Hello Ann,

If I am writing a fresh document from the word processor, which I go to from
the file manager by hitting the letter W,
I can start writing something. If I wish to save this fresh document, I
exit the word processor with the Z with spacebar. I then am asked whether I
wish to save the document? I type enter for yes if I wish to save my
document or arrow to no if I don't wish to save the document. If I press
enter for yes, I'm asked for document name which is usually noname.brl. I
type in the new name without extension and I have my document. If I arrow to
no, I press enter and I'm out of the document and nothing was saved, it is
that simple. If I go back into my document and write more, I press Z with
spacebar and I'll be asked whether I wish to save the document? I press
enter and voice sense says "saved"! It is that simple. You might try this
and see if it does things better for you! I like this method since I can
take down and save information quickly or decide quickly not to save what I
just wrote! The Sense product is indeed much nicer than the braillenote
family of products. One doesn't have to fiddle around as much just to take
down information! I use the save as if I wish to save under another
document type. As usual, there is more than one way to do things with a
computer device. Give this a try and see if that works better!

  HTH

  Jim

Subject: [GWN] Progress? was: New Member with a Question about "Save
as..."

  Hi, List,

Well, I think perhaps I have made some progress, of a sort. I discovered
that I can create a new folder within the "My Documents" folder, and I can
create a new document within that folder. Then I can open the folder, write
in it, and save the changes to that document. When I open the word
processor and write in a new document and then try to save it to a new
document name, I still get the crashing cymbals, however. But at least now
I can work within a document if I create it first. Is that just the way
this device works, or should I be able to write in a new document before
giving it a name and use the "save as..." function just as I do on my PC?

  Ann
