Tessa, regarding your second question: If you move around in the file a bit--say, go back to the beginning or up and down lines a couple times, will your text revert to contracted braille? I've been having the experience that lines switch to uncontracted braille temporarily, but go back to their original form when I leave that particular line of text and then come back to it. If that works for you, it will make correcting the text in question unnecessary.--Ninette

Subject: [GWN] two file problems

Hi:
A couple issues I'm wondering about.
I have a file I'm trying to load on to the bsp. It was originally a pdf
document, I used the save as text feature to convert it to txt and then
copied it to my compact flash card. The file is about 575kb in size, I've
looked at the file on the pc and on the flash card using the pc and both
copies open fine, but when I try to open the file on the bsp I get two
reactions. One says loading and the bsp beeps and beeps and beeps, I think it went on at one time for 5 minutes without loading the file, I had to use reset to get it to stop. The second reaction is that it beeps once or twice, loads the file but the file is empty. When I check the flash card I now have two files one being the 575k the other showing 0k. Any ideas why this file won't load properly. The card has all kinds of free space on it, beyond that
I can't think of any reason it won't load.

Second issue, I've had this happen a couple times since the upgrade. I often
leave files on the word processor and turn the machine off or go to other
programs and so on. Occasionally I've gone back to the file to find a
portion of it has been converted to what I think might be computer braille.
Not the entire file, but enough so that it's a pain to have to go over it
and repair the text Whole paragraphs or pages suddenly are no longer in
grade 2 braille and I haven't a clue as to why. I use contracted braille but
save all my documents as txt files.
here's an example of the mess my paragraph has become.

1I SUSPECT T'S 9CORRECT & to YOU'RE Abled+ A VISUAL ASPECT 6! AUDI# "OS B
S5T 1H5RY AN EMAIL 63FIRM Tbled
I suspect that's incorrect and they're adding a visual aspect to the audible
ones but sent Henry an email to confirm.

I assume the first is computer braille? Any suggestions as to why only part
of a document gets converted and how I can prevent this, anyone else have
something similar happen?
Thanks for any info.
Tessa
