Congratulations to Ron who completed his first Century. We started with 6 (me, Kate, Ron, Ken, Maria and Tim) but Maria and Tim (he was on his fixie and going strong) were planning on 40 so that left 4 of us for the full distance. I was the only one with a cue sheet so that will tell you something there. We started off a little rough with directions but Maria was there to quickly fix things. At Belltown I now understood how the cue sheet was put together. We then left Maria and Tim at Belltown and things great after that. We did not get LOST!
At mile 35 was our first rest stop but when we got there it was closed :( all of us need fluid so another store was listed at 46. At 46 that store was open.. yippee... and we enjoyed refueling and a short break. We also stopped at 79 in Butner for a well needed stop and refueling. As planned we went slow up the hills and faster down the hills with a steady pace on the flats. I will call the average 17.6! way to go group. We stayed together on all the hills with the only exception of Range Road which is a long and steady climb where we got stretched out a little but regrouped at the stop sign. Along the way we even had some county line sprints and the winner always got to pull - thanks Ken. It was a great day to spend riding with good company and sights. Thanks for route Maria. All right, I'm in too. I was really looking forward to the ride today - my first century - but the weather got in the way. 17 is a little faster pace than we were planning for the B Century, but it shouldn't be a problem if the route is relatively flat. Anyone else who was planning on Saturday's ride care to join us? See you all, ready to roll at 8:00! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you foolishly subscribed to the Gyro email group.
