I guess my point was that you don't have to have a "mountain bike" to ride in Umstead. Unless I am heading over towards crabtree to some actual trails, I grab a touring or cross bike for umstead loops.
I am not saying that a slick 25mm road tire would be ideal, but it *would*be possible if you wanted a change of scenery sometime. Ideal would probably be a bike with 30-34mm tires. Gary, I have always thought 28c equaled 28mm in tire-speak.
