I usually use a strip or two from a cheap roll of packing tape, but when I have nothing close to hand, I will very lightly dampen my hands in the nearest sink and gently rub the fur away. This seems to work with most fabrics. The trick is to get your hands just moist enough it grips the hair, but not so much you leave a hand print on yourself. :-) This has the added bonus of rubbing away any wrinkles and static in your garment too.
