I have an Elna that I purchased two weeks before my daughter was born, and
have used through countless heirloom outfits for my children and the many
commissions I have lost count of, as well as more costumes, prom gowns and
period
clothing than I can even begin to add up.
The daughter turns 22 on April 22, so the machine has been plugging away for
almost 22 years with the same light. The only part I have had to replace
was the little airmatic foot because the rubber had started to lose air and it
would cause the machine to slow down when I was whizzing along.
I still have the spare bulb that I purchased for that 'just in case'
emergency, because of course I expected my original bulb to die in the middle
of the
night when I had to have something finished the next day.
