For those of us who were young teenagers in the late sixties, the early seventies blended in pretty seamlessly. We could read about the Summer of Love when it happened but we were stuck in Smalltown USA with our parents. Eventually, we got to go to college and discover anti-war protesting, no dress codes, marajuana, communal living, etc., but by then we were in the early seventies. On the other hand, no one would mistake the late Seventies, with the polyester pant suits, platform shoes, disco, condos, etc. as having anything to do with hippies.
