Additionally, you have an unneeded "a" there. What about saying a word or two about gnome in this slide, and also about othe WMs?
http://shlomif.il.eu.org/lecture/W2L/Blitz/slides/equivalents.html problem with the direction of the parenthesis there. http://shlomif.il.eu.org/lecture/W2L/Blitz/slides/console/ What is the meaning of the last bullet in this slide? http://shlomif.il.eu.org/lecture/W2L/Blitz/slides/console/goodies.html A note about: Ctl+z , Ctl+s, Ctl+q ? http://shlomif.il.eu.org/lecture/W2L/Blitz/slides/console/filesystem.html I don't like the title of this slide. Maybe ×××××××× ××××××× ×× ××××× ××××××? Or maybe even writing few words about the different methodology than windows (single tree - no C: D: E:, mount) http://shlomif.il.eu.org/lecture/W2L/Blitz/slides/console/common_cmds.html What have you written about less? Also, please note that for novice user, the standard output is usually his console. http://shlomif.il.eu.org/lecture/W2L/Blitz/slides/help/info.html You have a spelling mistake in the second bullet. Also, note pinfo. http://shlomif.il.eu.org/lecture/W2L/Blitz/slides/help/howtos.html Once again, parenthesis stuff. Also, link to the TLDP copy if the user don't have these locally. http://shlomif.il.eu.org/lecture/W2L/Blitz/slides/packages/apt.html Any referance to the new yum system used in Fedora? http://shlomif.il.eu.org/lecture/W2L/Blitz/slides/foss-philosophy/copyleft.html Bad grammar in the last bullet, and in the second http://shlomif.il.eu.org/lecture/W2L/Blitz/slides/foss-philosophy/more-info.html Broken HTML tags here. Overall comments: No single word about gnome/other desktop managers. No single word about multimedia under Linux No slide which says "demonstrations" - the idea is that the people will hear the lecture, and will leave the hall saying "Wow, this Linux stuff is uberly cool. I must try this 1337 stuff at home", not to feel "Wow, this Linux stuff is complex like hell, I have to do a BsC in CS in order to understand even the basics of it", which is the feeling your lecture is giving. I am also missing some screen-shots, and explanations about why OpenSource is good (free, evolve fast, secure, few comments about UNIX and standards completion) Also, you might also point the people who are afraid of installing Linux to cygwin, so that they will be able to experiment with a *NIX environment before installing Linux. Also, pointing the to Superior OSS replacements to commercial applications on Windows will be good IMHO (if they will get used to the interface, their transition will be much more easy) Cheers, Shachar -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Haifa Linux Club Mailing List (http://www.haifux.org) To unsub send an empty message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
