I'm sorry, but I have to disagree here. How is that decision 'blind'?
I'm sorry, not 'blind' but 'brainwashing poor CS students'.
Debian, RHEL, various Live distros, and more. And time after time,
ever since it was released, Ubuntu has proven to be a better choice
for new-intermediate users than the others, and by its own right a
very powerful and comfortable OS.
That's where we see things differently.
I've seen many people switch from
other distros to it, and be very happy. Admittedly, I have nil
experience with SuSE, but saying that my decision for Ubuntu is blind,
well, that's a bit much.
I replied to Boaz. However, I was talking about this specific version
(10.1) and not about your experience with Suse in general. Re-read.
day a good linux day). And I believed then as I still do now that
Ubuntu would have been a better choice of distro.
I'm not looking for believers not missioners. Over the years we chose one
distribution and honestly went with it all the way. By making people have
doubts and telling them that "this is not my recommendation but Adir's
recommendation" or "the Linux party recommendation", you made a joke from
all this party. Next time, if you can't be loyal to a team - don't join
it. But don't you worry, I needed only one chance to see that.
However, seeing as
you wouldn't accept this option (at least not until installations
failed left and right, and/or the first person without the DVD drive
came along), I was faced with two options: Either refuse to help, or
help. Believing that I can indeed help, I stayed on board. But that
doesn't revoke my right to bitch about the distro.
If you bitch on the distro and/or you don't like it, don't do it. You have
the right to bitch and I have the right to have a loyal team who will not
laugh behind my face and work toward the written mission. And you know
exactly what I'm talking about.
Adir.
