Posting this original thread I didn't add the rest I wanted to because of time.
In close to 20 years of computing I have had only 2 power supplies fail. One was a PCP&C- about 4 years old at the time. Served its warranty, but obviously not a lifetime investment either. I was also somewhat annoyed the way in which they marketed had that they currently had the only SLI approved power supply, insinuating that the user would have problems with any other PS. Sorta of a marketing embellishment. Today I only install 400+ PS on new computers I build. Recently paid $34 each for some 420 or 430 Thermalake's. Bob
