The thing that kills me in PS3's support for dual 16x9 monitors at 1080i.. what the hell is that? Damn. Who's got that in their living room?

Each core features 2 hardware threads, but that's just symmetrical multithreading. Like hyperthreading on the Pentium 4. But the Cell in the PS3 does have a total of 8 active cores. The PPE features SMT, but the 7 SPEs don't. The connection options for the PS3 are absolutely ludicrous. MS launched the X360 bragging about the 3 USB 2.0 ports and four wireless controllers, but Sony rolls out the PS3 and absolutly creams them with 6 USB ports, 7 bluetooth controllers, built in wifi (not an addon like the X360), Memory Stick, SD card, Compact flash, 3 gigabit ethernet ports, 2 HDMI outputs, 2.5" HDD expansion, and Blu-Ray for HD movies. Insane! MS was talking about connecting MP3 players and networking with MCE XP boxes. Sony is talking about streaming video and games from your PS3 at home to your PSP over wifi from the other side of the world and podcasting HD video. I watched both Press Conferences and Sony's was just way more impressive. They seem to have way more to show for their efforts than MS does, and MS ships 6 months earlier!
