see, this "bad pixel" thing freaks me out. What's up with that? How bad is
a bad pixel, how bad are five of them?
Do pixels ever go bad after time or is what you see when you buy it what
you'll always have?
I dunno... I wondere if it's worth buying at a brick-and-mortar store just
so I can return it even if it has one bad pixel?

Having said that, when I first got it, I was extremely picky and went
thru 2
rounds of LCD exchanges (for various reasons, bad pixels usually) via
phone
support. The 3rd LCD was pristine and only 1 bad sub-pixel noticeable in
the
bottom corner.
As a computer business I will not purchase flat panel monitors from my
supplier, ASI. I got one ViewSonic with a bad pixel. Naturally, ASI
referred me to ViewSonic. ViewSonic informed me that if there were not at
least 5 bad pixels it was considered within tolerances. Viewsonic refused
to exchange it. What if I had ordered this one for a customer? Just won't
work!
Do any of you who are in business deal with a supplier who will exchange a
flat panel monitor that has one bad pixel? Do any of you who are in
business deal with a supplier who will cross ship you a NEW replacement
for any item you RMA?
In fact can any of you who buy at true wholesale purchase monitors,
printers, scanners, software etc. at a wholesale price that is anywhere
close to what the general public pays at the large stores? I surely can
not!
The stores have a lots better exchange policy than I could get with my
supplier. When your store bought product goes bad within 30 days, just
take it back for an exchange. If I had bought it and sold it, I have to
pay the freight to return it if it is bad. Then I have to wait from 3 to 6
weeks for a replacement which is often USED. It just does not pay for me
to sell anything outside of the computer case.
