Yes.  In fact, you can "trade" VHDs from one machine to another and they
work just fine.  I have prepared VHD's of every OS that I leave handy and
burn them off to DVD-R to save them.  It's a good way of having a known good
Win2k SP4 install, etc. when I need it.

Then I want to reformat the primary hard drive. Can I just save the *.vmc
and *.vhd files and copy them to the updated machine after reinstalling the
Primary OS and Virtual PC?
