I would agree with that - the Core Duo and Core2 Duo stuff is just too good.

Granted recording something on a TV tuner is slower, and different then just flat out encoding ... a job in which Intel just shines. For one thing all the encoding, and editing software are written to take advantage of Intel processors. I have yet to see a single video program optimized for AMD while all the big players, Adobe, TMPenc, Ulead, Cinamacraft, Cyberlink are all optimized for P4s, Hyperthreading, or multi core / and or dual processors. AMD will do the job, but if you are starting from scratch, I don't think anyone would recommend anything but Intel. m
