With hardware encoders like the Hauppauge PVRs, no. The work is done by the capture card, not the cpu. My system runs 4 capture cards on an AMD XP2500+ and can capture 4 shows while watching another recorded show and still have cpu cycles to spare. Taking the recorded shows and editing commercials and creating DVDs or Xvid avi files is another matter. Jim Maki [EMAIL PROTECTED]
