I keep my FF pretty stripped down "all the time".
On my "Add-ons page" (Extensions Tab),
I list:
AVG Safe Search 8.0,
DownloadHelper 3.2 (for snatching small WEB videos),
FlashGot 2.0.5 (front end for GetRight, or others.)
McAfee SiteAdvisor 26.6 (helps with security decisions while browsing),
NoScript 1.7.9 White list (or realtime) pre-emptive blocking of Java-Script,
Java, (and other plug-ins). This shows me all sorts of
things
that "want to happen", and requires some use and
experience
to be most effective. (Not for beginners.)
Short list = no problems (here)... <grin>

Strip it down to the bare FF and then, if that doesn't help,
un+re-install. I have so little trouble with FF I don't know for sure
If I ever fixed it (on my machine.)
I may do this.
