Yes, and I do so love W2K for it's IRQ treatment. Wow, really? SATA DVD drives?
I will look in the am. Now that we have a Prez-Elect, I can blow off the Talking Heads!

do not be too concerned with sharing IRQ's, is NOT the problem it was in the stone age <:-|

should not be a problem while you shop new SATA DVD drives. I like Samsung but use LiteON when I need a beige front panel ( retail box comes with both )

The other PCI slot is dedicated to the old PCI FX5500 video card. Once I pick a PCIe-x1 or PCIe-x16 video card for replacement the old FX5500 will have to do. >I know this reads like I am 'junk' building, but I'm really trying to re-use what I have until I can afford to move ahead with updates. This m/b only has one PATA-eide port, but I think that the case geometry will not support the normal cable length of the standard eide cable (included) for both the hard drive and DVDrom/Burner mounting points. I can do a temp mount of the HD to the FD carrier for initial startup and test, but this would not be my long-term decision.
