The RoadyXT w/ home kit comes with an external antenna and like 25 ft of cord so you can locate the antenna outside or wherever is you need to get reception. It also comes with powercord and a means to connnected it to your speakers. In my case, I hooked it into to my PC. The cord proved unnecessary for me as I put the antenna near the window next to my PC and reception was fine. YMMv.
I wondered about how people got along with these. How well do they play inside anyway? Is there some sort of external antenna that must be hooked up or does the thing have to be next to a window? I don't drive a lot but I drive some. How are these units for switching between vehicles?
