When I looked a few months ago every set under 39 or 37in was 720p/1080i and/or had a
native resolution less than 1920x1080. If that's not the case then I'd assume time
marches on & they are making them now where they had not been doing so.
To answer the question, since a 720P effectively is 1080i I'd imagine 1080P content
gets downscaled to fit the screen.

Since we're on this subject....All TV's below 37" are 720. What does
one of those TV's do when fed with a 1080 signal? Or does it just not
display? I've wondered about that since I would think that with the
mixtures of 1080/720 stations, they'd want everything to display
everything....or am I mistake because that makes sense?
