The work is digging the trench. There is nothing to putting the cable in a straight piece of PVC electrical conduit with two sweeps. If you want to go cheap use exterior cat 5e and don't bother with junction boxes onces you come out of the ground. Just bring the PVC up at least 18 inches above grade and tape the end with duct tape.
Actually, if you are going to go to the trouble I don't see why you wouldn't want to use CAT 6... it isn't very expensive at monoprice and
